The City Boy Movement is building state-level structures for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign, with new leadership and ward-by-ward targets in Oyo and Ondo states.
In Oyo, the movement says it is perfecting its strategy across all 33 local government areas. Its Oyo coordinator, Ahmed Ajibola, pledged one million votes for the President in the state and said the group aims for about 1,000 members in each of Oyo’s 351 wards.
If met, the target of about 1,000 members in each of the 351 wards would give the movement roughly 351,000 members in Oyo alone.
Ajibola said the movement runs on voluntary donations from its members. Olufemi Onireti was later named the movement’s Director-General for Oyo, BusinessDay reported.
Ondo executives inaugurated
In Ondo, the movement inaugurated its state executives in Akure. The State Director, Oluwafemi Ayejusunle, said the movement already has three members in each polling unit and is building its presence across the state’s 18 local government areas.
Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared his support for the President.
From platform to movement
The state drives follow the movement’s first national retreat, held in Abuja in July 2026, which drew members from all 36 states and the FCT. Seyi Tinubu said at the retreat that the City Boy Movement has evolved beyond a campaign platform into a movement committed to national development and citizen engagement.
The movement is targeting 10 million youth votes. Its activities also include a Lagos chapter and ICT marshals in Bauchi.
Addressing the movement at State House on 19 October, President Tinubu said it had grown to more than 4.8 million verifiable members organised across states, local governments, wards and polling units. “That is not noise. That is organisation,” he said.
The rally timetable brings the APC campaign to Akure on 11 November and Ibadan on 21 November.
