The All Progressives Congress has released its nationwide presidential campaign timetable, which opens with a flag-off rally in Kaduna on Saturday 24 October and closes with a grand finale in Lagos on Saturday 9 January 2027, one week before polling day.
The schedule was released by the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, and was approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The President is expected to personally attend rallies in about 12 states.
Across 37 stops, the timetable takes the campaign to all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with rallies scheduled for each state capital.
November: the busiest month
After Kaduna, the campaign resumes on 2 November in Calabar, followed in quick succession by Gombe, Lafia, Ado-Ekiti, Port Harcourt, Abakaliki, Dutse, Akure, Benin City and Jos. The second half of the month takes in Damaturu, Birnin Kebbi, Uyo, Awka, Ibadan, Maiduguri, Enugu and Bauchi before ending in Makurdi on 30 November. In all, 19 rallies are scheduled for November.
December and the final stretch
December opens in Katsina on the 2nd, then Abeokuta, Sokoto, Umuahia, Lokoja, Osogbo, Ilorin, Asaba, Gusau, Yenagoa, Minna, Kano and Jalingo. The Abuja rally for the FCT is on 21 December, and Owerri on 30 December.
In the new year, the campaign visits Yola on 4 January before returning to Lagos, the President’s political home, for the closing rally on 9 January.
The window
Campaigning for the 2027 elections runs from 19 August 2026 to 15 January 2027. The Electoral Act 2026, which the President signed on 18 February 2026, set the new dates. The presidential and National Assembly elections hold on Saturday 16 January 2027, with governorship and State Assembly elections following on 6 February 2027. The Act moved the presidential poll forward from 20 February 2027.
The timetable follows the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council on 14 October, where the President urged members to deliver their polling units and the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, said the council would canvass ward by ward, local government by local government and state by state.
